Il suo video su myspace ? stato visto 2 milioni di volte. Ma i motivi per cui parlare di ?I Kissed a Girl? di Katy Perry sono altri. ?Ho baciato una ragazza e mi piaciuto/ il sapore di ciliegia del suo lucidalabbra/ Ho baciato una ragazza tanto per provarci/ Spero che al mio ragazzo non importi/ Mi ? sembrato cos? sbagliato/ Mi ? sembrato cos? giusto?. Cos? Katy, 26enne californiana, capelli neri, occhi azzurri e look da ragazzina impertinente degli anni Cinquanta, racconta di un bacio saffico con un'amica sull'onda di qualche drink di troppo. ?Sapevo quello che stavo facendo. Sapevo che la gente avrebbe gridato al tabu, ma non avevo paura ? dice lei ?. Non ? l'unica carta che ho da giocare, ho altri assi?. Intanto, dopo aver creato tante chiacchiere su internet, anche il suo primo album ?One of the Boys? (in Italia arriva a settembre) ? entrato nella Top ten ufficiale americana: posizione numero 9. A colpire ? la storia di Katy, vero nome Katheryn Hudson: figlia di pastori, un tatuaggio con la scritta ?Jesus? sul polso. E un esordio discografico nel settore christian music: nel 2001, col suo vero nome, ha pubblicato un cd di canzoni gospel. Ovviamente la ragazza piace a Madonna. In un paio di interviste radiofoniche Madonna si ? lasciata scappare apprezzamenti di peso per la sua musica e per il personaggio. Dopo aver nominato erede Britney Spears con un bacio sulla bocca durante una trasmissione di Mtv e aver visto che brutta fine ha fatto la ex lolita del pop costretta a fare dentro e fuori da cliniche per la riabilitazione, Madonna ha scelto la sua nuova erede. Ad aver colpito la ?Material Mum? era stata una canzone che girava l'anno scorso, intitolata ?Ur So Gay? (sei cos? gay), una lettera d'addio all'ex fidanzato un po' troppo effeminato. Polemiche anche in quel caso: ?Ogni volta che la faccio sentire la gente ride. Non sono una di quelle che dice che tutto e tutti sono gay. Lei sembra un misto fra la sfacciataggine di Lily Allen, la grinta-pop di Avril Lavigne, il rock femminista di Alanis Morissette e la popdance di Madonna. Lo spiega chiaramente presentandosi sul suo sito internet: ?Penso che la gente apprezzi un cantautore che mostra diversi suoi aspetti. Parlare di angoscia esistenziale pu? essere anche figo, ma se ? tutto quello che sai dire diventi noioso. Tutto quello che scrivo, triste o felice che sia, ha senso dell'umorismo. E dire che in passato c'? stato chi le ha chiuso le porte in faccia: ?Cinque anni, tre etichette e tanta gente che mi diceva di smettere?, ricorda lei nelle interviste. Katy, 26 from California, dark hair, blue eyes and that 50's sassy girl look, tells about a lesbian kiss with a friend due to a few drinks. "I knew what I was doing. I knew that people would have yelled at tabu, but I wasn't afraid - she says -. It's not the only card I have to play [this I litterally translated: does it make any sense??], I have other aces in the hole". In the meanwhile, after making many gossips rise in the internet, even her first debut album One of the Boys (in Italy it'll be released in Spetember) entered the official American Top 10 at #9.
